a little more dancing...

I have two more quick happy dances with my ornaments from last night. I started working on the red set, and have the tree and candy cane done and will work on the partridge/bird one tonight... The red thread I'm using is GAST in Claret.

Here are close ups of the two separately, and then the third picture, is as you can see all of them so far. Once the 6th one is done, I'll start working on getting them finished up into actual ornament form.

a third little dance...

Just thought I would share the last of the three ornaments in the Plum Pudding Holiday Samplings pattern that I've been stitching. This time its a bird of some sort, maybe a partridge but who knows... its cute nonetheless

I do plan on stitching all three again, except this time in a nice red. They are really cute and quick little pieces. So stay tuned for those pictures...

I also thought I would share with you our Christmas cactus' or is that cacti? These were taken earlier today and they are blooming like crazy already! Last year they bloomed continuously from roughly November till about March. I have a few different colours - dark pink, light pink, orange and I believe a yellow one it there somewhere... right now in the kitchen we have 6 different pots with them in various sizes... you can sort of see 5 of them in this picture.

This last picture is a close of up of our largest one, it actually has three different colours planted in the one pot, light pink, dark pink and a pale orange. I just love these things and always seem to buy a new one every year, though I'm not sure where to put them anymore!

I'm off to start working on my Sunday LHN SAL... Happy Sunday to everyone!

doin' a little jig

I have another small happy dance to report, I have finished off the second of many ornaments to go.... This time it is the candy cane motif from the Holiday Samplings by Plum Pudding Needleart.

And here they are together...

Nina asked what thread I am using for these, and I'm using two strands of Thread Gatherer Silk n' Colors in Dark Forest (SNC 089) - "left over" thread from my Morning Glory project. I am also stitching it over two on 32 ct ivory jobelan, though the fabric doesn't look very ivory in the pictures...

dancin' all night long...

Well I managed to have a couple of happy dances already this week!

I finished up Drawn Thread's Morning Glory on Monday night, I had much less to do on that that I thought I did, so I was quite pleasantly suprised to finish it so quickly. Here you go, as usual ignore my terrible photography skills. Its so difficult to take a decent picture when it gets so dark so early, and I usually do my "photo shoots" in the middle of the night anyways...

Then I thought, hmm what to stitch next... ornaments! We(I) have a tradition of putting a Christmas tree ornament into everyone's stocking, so I thought that this year instead of going out and buying a bunch - its hard to find nice but idividual/creative/pretty ornaments out there without either paying an arm and a leg or walking your feet off going from store to store (or of course both) - that I would stitch an ornament for everyone! So I started last night and even finished the first one up.

I also completely forgot about the tusal this month! I thought that it was today but really it was on the 16th! So here we go a few days late...

As you can see I haven't put some of my halloween decorations away, and that I still managed to fit some orts into the jar, even though it was pretty much over flowing last month already!

The second picture, which I gave a bit more season appropriate background, is after I emptied my original jar into the second container! All that was in that other jar orginally! I was quite surprised at the amount in there! You can also see that I've already started filling my jar again... that is from the ornament and last night's stitching session.

I'm now off to work on some more ornaments...have a great evening and happy stitching till next time!
