old and new year...

Happy New Year to everyone!  I managed to have two more quick little happy dances at the end of December (I can say that now since it is January 1st)... I managed to stitch and finish both Merry One and Merry Two by Plum Street Samplers.
Both very cute and fun stitches.  I am planning on using some of the motifs from both to make into ornaments in the future.

Here they are... both stitched with the called for threads that came with the pattern, with one thread over 2 on 32ct chocolate milk jobelan by Stephanie. One of my favourite fabrics.

Since it is the beginning of a new year, it is also the annual emptying of the ort jar... these are all my orts from Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2015...

Now normally I just throw them out, but I have seen some interesting ideas of how to reuse them in the future...

And also since it is Jan 1... it is time for a new start as well..  I have been starting the last couple of years with a pattern from Jardin Prive, and I kept to that little tradition, which is now going on its 3 year.  I picked Tea Break by Jardin Prive, except I changed the pink tea cups to blue for mine...

I have a happy dance!  It seems like it has been such a long time since I've had a stitchy one! 

I finished The Beekeeper by Plum Street Samplers, stitched on 32 ct chocolate milk jobelan by Hand Dyed by Stephanie, using the called for weeks threads, one thread over 2.

It was such a lovely stitch, and I just adore the way it turned out!  Thank you to Paulette for designing such a great piece!

Sorry that they are not the best pictures... but I finished off another baby blanket (stroller/car size) using a granny stripe pattern and a scalloped edge... I really love the look of both of these, they have become my favourite stitches (so far) that I have learned.

I've sent this off to Europe for my cousin's little girl, I really hope they like it!  I'm planning on giving the other one I finished away as well, I just haven't decided on who will get it, and I'm already in the process of making another one. However I forgot to take a picture of that one.


I also started a new stitching project, when I finished off my Freedom blackwork project... I started Plum Street Sampler's The Beekeeper and I've been working on it for the last couple of weeks...  here is where I left off....

the border and the lady to go!  However I have put it aside and pulled out a different wip tonight... I started the next block on my Home Sweet Home 2013 SAL b Les Grilles du Maryse

 

made pretty good progress on it tonight... I finished all but the middle of the block.  That will be for tomorrow...

stitching update.... post 2

Okay, as I mentioned in my previous post, I have been stitching during my absence, but nothing close to the amount I normally would have had done by now.

First off TUSAL... no posting for me for august's new moon, which was on the 10, as my ort jar didn't change at all, this is my July photo after squishing. I have now finally added some more to it but I'll save those for september's new moon.

I actually also have a small finish that I can share. One of the managers at work was retiring, and I stitched her a little pillow as a gift. I really wanted to stuff it with lavender but with all the painting, packing, family stuff going on, plus my slow stitching speed, I just ran out of time!

I stitched up the main part of Plum Street Samplers freebie design "A Trifle for a Friend" on I believe 32ct light purple lugana over 2 with Nina's threads in Egg plant. I really love the colour of this thread and really like the pattern as well. I can see myself stitching this one up again for myself. I hate to admit it, but those three little flowers took me over a week to stitch, the rest including putting the pillow together 2 nights, as I had a deadline! Thank goodness for the deadline though, as that helped to get my stitching mojo back a little.

I've also worked a little here and there on Molly, our Sunday SAL with Barbi. I didn't quite stitch it on Sunday only, but I didn't do a lot either... here she is and where I am with her.

I don't have a progress picture, but right now I am working on my Quaker Samplings and I can see the end of the tunnel on this one. It should be done soon, I have about a 1/3 of the second page left to do.
