dancin' all night long...

Well I managed to have a couple of happy dances already this week!

I finished up Drawn Thread's Morning Glory on Monday night, I had much less to do on that that I thought I did, so I was quite pleasantly suprised to finish it so quickly. Here you go, as usual ignore my terrible photography skills. Its so difficult to take a decent picture when it gets so dark so early, and I usually do my "photo shoots" in the middle of the night anyways...

Then I thought, hmm what to stitch next... ornaments! We(I) have a tradition of putting a Christmas tree ornament into everyone's stocking, so I thought that this year instead of going out and buying a bunch - its hard to find nice but idividual/creative/pretty ornaments out there without either paying an arm and a leg or walking your feet off going from store to store (or of course both) - that I would stitch an ornament for everyone! So I started last night and even finished the first one up.

I also completely forgot about the tusal this month! I thought that it was today but really it was on the 16th! So here we go a few days late...

As you can see I haven't put some of my halloween decorations away, and that I still managed to fit some orts into the jar, even though it was pretty much over flowing last month already!

The second picture, which I gave a bit more season appropriate background, is after I emptied my original jar into the second container! All that was in that other jar orginally! I was quite surprised at the amount in there! You can also see that I've already started filling my jar again... that is from the ornament and last night's stitching session.

I'm now off to work on some more ornaments...have a great evening and happy stitching till next time!

a new start and giveaways...

In the end a new start won the calling of what to stitch next. I decided to pull out Drawn Thread's Morning Glory, which I fell in love with after watching Carol's progress on it last year. I started it on Monday evening and here is where I am today. The second picture is a floss toss so you can see all the pretty colours in this piece.

I'm stitching it on 32ct ivory jobelan, (at least that is what the label says... I thinking its more like lugana, but either way its a nice fabric) with one strand of silk over 2. I'm really enjoying it so far, its working up quite nicely and quickly.

Just a head's up, about my first giveaway, I haven't heard from two of the three winners, and its been just over a week, so the grand prize will go to the one that did contact me with their information, and then no 2nd and 3rd place surprises. Sorry to the ladies who lost out, but I think a week is reasonable enough time to wait.

Also speaking of giveaways, don't forget to check in on Missy's generous giveaway (button is on my sidebar) as well as come back in a couple of days as I should have my next giveaway ready to go too!

Edited to add for Nina: The floss wrapped on its own label is Dark Forrest - Silk n' Colours 089
