dancing up a storm...

Again, sorry for the disappearance, but again I have good reason... I've been stitching up a storm and have some finishes to show...

I finished my freebie heart done in all beads by AAN... I changed the word friendship in the centre to love and filled in some the extra empty space around it...

I also started another small one... Lizzie Kate's Forgive Quickly...   I stitched this one up on antique white 28ct jobelan using crescent colours wild berries thread (one of my favourite colours)

And last but not least, my biggest finish this month and one of my all time favourites... Fairy Moon by Mirabilia... I've added a couple of extra close ups... and please excuse the quality of them, they are phone pictures...

I've already got my next projects lined up, but I have to do some housekeeping with my threads first and put stuff away... once that is done I can finally see what I have and what I will still need for my next projects...

Till next time... happy stitching!

drive by update and tusal

Wow, where has the time gone!  I've been missing in action for almost a month!  Okay, part of it has been because I just haven't felt like blogging but the other reason is that I've been stitching!

Before I show off my progress pictures, I will post my TUSAL as that was due yesterday!  Here is my ort jar for this past month's stitching...

Lots of whites/light colours and purples in there, with just a hint of brown tossed in for good measure...

I finally managed to stitch a little bit on a Sunday, so I pulled out my Humbolt Coast and made a little progress on it!

I've also been focusing on two other pieces lately... a new start that I mentioned before and of course Fairy Moon!  Fairy Moon is close to the finish line as is the other piece, so I'm pushing both for two nice happy dances in the hopefully near future!

Here is Fairy Moon... I've already started beading her... I have some swirls and the moon left to do...

I'm just having a bit of a problem with her as her frame is huge! My hubby "fixed" my 17x17 qsnaps to make them just a bit bigger... they are closer to 19x19 now... and a bit unwieldy to use... but hopefully not much longer before she is done!

My new project is a freebie from AAN - friendship heart, except instead of just stitching it, I'm doing it all in beads... Here is a progress picture and a close up of the beads...

Anyways, that is it for me for now... I will try and not be such a stranger...

till next time... happy stitching!

early ort report

Just a quick post as I will be taking a blogging break for a bit, and I won't be around on Monday to post my ort report for the TUSAL...

Here is my jar for the last month... lots of orts in there! the bottom layer is from my pinkeeps, all different colours and then the rest is from Humbolt Coast and Fairy Moon, lots and lots of white, greys and greens in there!

Here is also my last post of a wip in a while too... I've been working on Fairy Moon, and I would love to get the bottom done already so I can finally move on the the fun stuff of her hair, and face!  But it was not meant to be, at least not yet!  Soon though, soon!

Anyways, till next time... happy stitching!!

the tide rolls in...

Sorry for the quality of the pictures, but I took them quickly with my phone...

Anyways... I'm pretty much done another page on Humbolt Coast... I'm also almost at the bottom of the chart... I have about 9 rows left from the bottom right corner where my stitching stopped. Once that part is done I can move over to the left...

I also managed to finish the main stitching on Fairy Moon's dress, I'm just working on filling in the  little designs on it before moving on to another part...

Not much else to say, but I am happy with my progress on both of them.

Till next time happy stitching!!!

weekly check in...

Seems that all I'm doing is posting my weekly stitching progress... not much else is going on so other that I don't have much to share...

I did manage to get a good chunk of stitching in on Fairy Moon this past week, and made a nice dent in Humbolt Coast as well.

I'll let the pictures do the speaking... you can pretty much see the before pictures in my last post...

Till next time happy stitching!

ihsw

It was a wonderful long weekend here... lots of visiting with friends, some family and of course lots of stitching, and it was an added bonus that ihsw also fell on this weekend! Yeah me!

I worked on both Fairy Moon and Humbolt Coast this weekend and here are my progress pictures...
Humbolt coast first...  you can see my last update before ihsw in my previous post and here is where I ended up after this weekend...

Fairy Moon, I haven't shown in quite a while, so here is where I stood with her before the weekend...

and here is after...

So I'm quite happy with my stitching progress!  Hubby also helped with finishing some pin keeps... We fininshed up one completely, and have everything all ready to go, for 5 more... just have to put them together, which will hopefully happen in the next few days.

Here is the one Donna won in my "grow your blog" giveaway... all finished up...

I will be getting this in the mail to her as soon as possible!

That's it for now... till next time... happy stitching!

ihsw...

Well it was IHSW this weekend, and I did manage to stitch... not as much as I would have liked, but I'm happy with my progress. I worked on two projects - the last supper by leisure arts and fairy moon by mirabilia.  Here are there before and after pictures...

I will be continuing to work on Fairy Moon this week, or as long as she keeps my attention.

Till tomorrow... happy stitching!

saturday night drive by posting

I completely forgot about the TUSAL posting for this month! The new moon was around the 13th if I am not mistaken... but here is my progress as of last night... it doesn't show as well, as I sort of already squished the threads down a bit... but you get the idea.

And while I'm showing of my orts, I may as well show off what I've been working on... Fairy Moon by Mirabilia... here is where I stand before tonight stitching session...

I'm really enjoying this one, it has been one of my favourites for a long time. The colours are so beautiful.

Tomorrow is Molly's turn, hopefully I'll get some good stitching time in, as I don't think we have too much going on tomorrow other than relaxing, but who knows... plans can change very quickly around here :O)

Till then happy stitching and enjoy the lovely weather!

a little bit of spring and some stitching...

First off, here are the progress pictures that I promised in my last post...
Fairy Moon by Mirablilia:

and my Sunday SAL progress of Molly by Carriage House Samplings:

You should check out Barbi's progress as well...
And now for a little spring... finally some lilacs from our small tree...

I try not to cut too many blooms off as its still a fairly small tree, and we don't get that many blooms a year, but it so hard not too, as they look and smell so lovely...
And some pictures of our sour cherry tree blooms... I took these June 5th...

flowers, stitching and some sad news

let's start with the flowers... spring is finally starting to bloom here, my lily of the valley are flowering like crazy and the rest of the garden is slowly starting to wake up as well.

We got a few new additions this year, as not all the flowers came back after the winter and we had a few empty holes to fill...

Here is a part of the lily of the valley corner

Our two out of three of the new additions... a dark purple almost black iris, a beautiful light purple iris (which looks sort of blueish in the picture) and the third one is a yellow iris which hasn't bloomed yet...

I also picked a bunch of lily of the valley and made my first bouquet.... yes that is the knorr salty and pepper salt shakers :O) I love that commercial, he is just too cute for words! With this bouquet, I barely scratched the surface of picking the flowers, there are just tons there this year!

They are right here by my computer, and the smell is just lovely!

I did manage to do a little stitching on Fairy Moon, not a lot, as we had a lot going on the last few days. Here is my progress so far, and trust me the photo doesn't do it justice, the purple of her shawl, does look good on that fabric... my photography skills are somewhat lacking and plus it is late here so the lighting wasn't the best...
And now on the the sad news... we got news that my grandmother passed away on Monday, so now instead of planning our vacation later this summer for her birthday - it would have been her 100th, we are travelling to Europe for her funeral. So I'll be offline for a couple of weeks.

She was an amazing woman, and she will be missed. She lived a good long life, and gave all of us in her family many many happy memories to remember her by.
Rest in Peace Nagymama, love you forever

tusal and a new stitching project on the horizon...

Well I didn't last long for no stitching, but my hands and wrists are doing much better..

So needless to say I was getting a little restless so I decided to start something new... I know you're all wondering why on earth would I do that when I already have so many other projects on the go, well I don't really have an answer to that one other than I felt like it! :O)

I decided to finally start Fairy Moon by Mirabila. My dad, who normally pays no attention to my stitching other than checking out the finished products, has been complaining that I'm not stitching any of those nice ladies that he likes (Mirablia and L&L types) so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone so to speak. I'll get my new start, and dad will get his lady...

Here is my floss toss - I'll be stitching it on 28 ct Iris lugana by Sugar Maple fabrics (who are no longer in business - so you can only guess how long I've had this in my stash...)

And of course this month's tusal's progress...

'till next time, happy stitching and happy spring!
