ihsw

It was a wonderful long weekend here... lots of visiting with friends, some family and of course lots of stitching, and it was an added bonus that ihsw also fell on this weekend! Yeah me!

I worked on both Fairy Moon and Humbolt Coast this weekend and here are my progress pictures...
Humbolt coast first...  you can see my last update before ihsw in my previous post and here is where I ended up after this weekend...

Fairy Moon, I haven't shown in quite a while, so here is where I stood with her before the weekend...

and here is after...

So I'm quite happy with my stitching progress!  Hubby also helped with finishing some pin keeps... We fininshed up one completely, and have everything all ready to go, for 5 more... just have to put them together, which will hopefully happen in the next few days.

Here is the one Donna won in my "grow your blog" giveaway... all finished up...

I will be getting this in the mail to her as soon as possible!

That's it for now... till next time... happy stitching!

ihsw report

This weekend was the IHSW - international hermit and stitch weekend, as well as our regular Sunday SAL with Barbi. I managed to get quite a bit done on my last supper as the progress pictures show. However we also had a busy weekend, especially Sunday so no progress on Humbolt Coast.

ihsw...

Well it was IHSW this weekend, and I did manage to stitch... not as much as I would have liked, but I'm happy with my progress. I worked on two projects - the last supper by leisure arts and fairy moon by mirabilia.  Here are there before and after pictures...

I will be continuing to work on Fairy Moon this week, or as long as she keeps my attention.

Till tomorrow... happy stitching!

going nowhere...

I had a good stitching session tonight, or so I thought... I felt like I stitched most the of the evening, but if you look at what I did, it feels like I made no progress whatsoever!  I was still working on the last supper, and all I managed to add was two hands... silly fractional stitches and colour changes...but the effect is worth it in the end...

Also as I was surfing the net, I found a picture of this freebie... I know its a Val's Stuff design, but I can't seem to find the actual freebie anywhere... does anyone have this or know how to contact the designer??? Are they still designing?? I couldn't even find a website for them... Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated... that snowman is just too cute not to want to stitch him!

Also don't forget, this weekend coming up is the ihsw, so get ready to hermit and sign up!  You can click on the picture on my sidebar for more information!  I'm actually going to sign up for it this weekend, its been a few months now that I have been able to, so let's hope my best laid plans stay that way and I get to stitch lots!

a little bit of everything...

Well it seems I was having computer problems again, right after I posted on Friday.  Don't ask me what as the darn thing didn't want to work for me other than giving me a completely black screen with just the mouse movement visable, so I turned the thing off, and let it sit till my hubby came home yesterday.

Needless to say, he turned it on and all worked fine... and its still working... so I'm guessing this new computer doesn't like me yet....

Anyways, on to more happy things, like stitching!!! It was a busy weekend in the stitching cyber world!  Tusal, IHSW, not to mention our Sunday SAL with Barbi, and yesterday was the L*K SAL so I have lots to show!

First off here is my tusal for this month... much better showing than the last two months! I got lots of stitching done in the last couple of weeks!

Next up is part of my progress for the IHSW... on Friday and a little on Saturday I worked on Sabrina  (by Mirabilia) and I'm close to getting the stitching done.  As you can see I have a little of her hair left to do and then the flowers in her hair and on her dress, then its on to the ton of beads!

I also worked on Suzannah on Sunday for our SAL with Barbi as well as part of the IHSW, I didn't give her a head yet, but instead started working on that huge flower. Not sure how Barbi is doing but she was way ahead of me on this so I'm just playing catch up.

Then yesterday was our Monday SAL for L*K's 6 Fat Snowmen, and I made a little progress on that as well.

And last but not least a picture of my cutie pie kitty... Princess...

Till next time happy stitching!

tusal, sal, ihsw...

Hmmm where to start... I again forgot yesterday was TUSAL day, so here is my ort jar one day late...

Also here is my year to date in the big jar, with this month's orts added in too... Considering I didn't feel like I stitched that much this month, my jar got pretty full...

I will admit, I forgot to post yesterday becuase we weren't even home for most of the day...and with that thought, I will also admit that I stitched on Suzannah on Saturday night instead our regular Sunday SAL becuase I knew Iwouldn't be home and didn't want the poor girl to be neglected for 3 weeks in a row...  anyways, here is her progress... still way behind Barbi!

So as you can see I worked on Suzannah as part of my IHSW weekend, as well as I did some more on Sabrina.  Since I haven't posted a progress picture of her in a while, here she is too....  I'm getting closer to finishing up her skirt... not quite there yet, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel!

Today is the 6 Fat Men SAL, and I am hoping to get some nice stitching time in today, since it is a holdiay for us... we do have a dinner to go to, but I have a little time before that and will hopefully have some afterwards too that I can work on it before heading off to bed tonight.

Happy stitching everyone!

ihws, tusal, sal...

It was a busy weekend in the stitching world! IHSW, and TUSAL! I will admit, I was off by one day on my TUSAL in that I even had it listed as April 22, when it was the 21st. But no matter, I was away anyways! :D

Here are my progress pictures:

For the IHSW, I worked on Sabrina Friday night and here are my before and after pictures.
I would have had more done, that small little bit of green that is hanging down on the right side there, I had a bunch more stitched around there but had to frog as I grabbed the wrong colour! But I'm getting closer and closer to the end of her dress!
I didn't stitch at all on Saturday as we weren't home, but it was tusal time so here are my orts for the month, as well as year to date...  The first picture is my month's orts in the smaller jar and my year to date squished in the big jar.

The second picture is the year so far all together!

Next up on the list, Sunday's SAL with Barbi!  Since we were away for most of the weekend, I didn't get too much stitching time in, but I did get enough to finish off her darn skirt!  Whoo hoo, I thought that thing was never going to end! I can finally move onto other fun parts of this project!

I have one last photo to show you, my new stitching buddy, Princess! So far she has been good in not going after my threads, but she does like to sit with me, sometimes on me while I'm stitching.

Don't forget tonight is 6 Fat Snowmen night! I'll be getting mine all ready shortly!

ihsw...

This weekend was the ihsw - international hermit and stitch weekend and I managed to do some of both!

Its also a long weekend here where I live, so I managed to stitch a little more today too.

I worked on two projects this weekend, I worked on Sabrina by Mirabilia and I put a few stitches into my Birds of a Feather Mystery by With My Needle and Thread.

Here are my progress pictures of them:

Sabrina

and Birds of a Feather

Sadly I don't have a before picture of Sabrina, before working on her this weekend other than my previous post from last Wednesday... I did have a wonderful stitching afternoon with Edith on Saturday where I worked on Sabrina and made some good progress. I continued working on her for the rest of Saturday as well as yesterday.

Birds of a Feather, I only pulled out this morning, I needed a bit of a change after all those whites and greens in Sabrina. I've managed to stitch up the second tree and bird so far today. This one is still in my qsnaps and lapstand as I plan on continuing stitching on it tonight and maybe even this week. We'll see what happens!

Sabrina...

Haven't been on the computer too much, though through my phone I have been on facebook etc, and of course reading blogs... I just don't like to post from there - especially pictures so I'm a bit behind in posting!

Here is my progress of Sabrina so far. This is my progress as of both Sunday night, that I orginally wanted to post on Monday...

and as of last night...

I'm still going to be plugging along on her, as I'm not bored with her and her big blocks of one colour just yet.

Barbi and I decided that we will wait till March to start Suzannah, our next and final girl of the Carriage House Sampling series. Also sometime in March we will be starting another SAL for the 6 Fat Snowmen by Lizzie Kate, but I think that will be in the second half of the month. I still need to figure out things with Veronica. So if you would like to join us in stitching this keep your eyes open for more information shortly!

Also don't forget that this weekend is IHSW - you can see what this is and sign up using the button in my side bar! This weekend is also a long weekend here for us, and I foresee a lot of stitching in my future! I already have a stitchy date set for Saturday afternoon!

sunday sal, tusal, and ihsw...

Wow, everything seems to have come together for this weekend and Monday update, that I don't even know where to start!

Let's start with last week's progress on The Last Supper... I worked on that last week and did pretty good considering I didn't get to stitch every night like I normally do. I didn't bother taking them out of the q-snaps as it will be coming up for more stitching time soon enough.

The blue robe on the very left, where I ended, is actually part of the last apostle standing at the table, so I'm getting close to finsihing off all the good bits, after all that stitching is done, I'm left with all the fiddly bits - the skin with all its colour changes and fractionals, all the stuff on the table - more fractionals, and of course the ton and a half of backstitching! So much still to do, but I know it will be worth it in the end.

Next up... the start of the IHSW - international hermit and stitch weekend. Edith and I had a stitchy date on Saturday (sadly Barbi couldn't make it - hopefully next time) and I started a new project - the Birds of a Feather mystery SAL in three parts by With Thy Needle & Thread. Its not so much a mystery anymore as the SAL has been over for a while and I have all three parts of the pattern, but I have been wanting to stitch it since it came out. I finally sat down to start.

Here is my progress from Saturday's stitching session with Edith and some more that evening...

As I mentioned, since I have all three parts, I started in the middle instead of working it part by part, which works much better for me, as I have a hard time starting on projects from one of the corners...

I'm stitching it on 28ct natural peal linen, with the recommended threads. I'm a little weary as the thread pack that came with it is for 35ct, so I'm hoping I'll have enough thread...

I normally don't like stitching on linen, and I know you have all heard me say that many times before, but this fabric is one exception... it is more like an evenweave than a linen in that there really are no slubs in it and I love that about it! Plus the stitches lay so nicely on this fabric! I just have to get over the fact that its sort of itchy feeling... Anyways, this one is up to continue to work on this week.

Next progress picture... tusal... today is the new moon, and I thought I would try something different this year... here is my progress for this past month - from Dec. 24 till last night. I have to admit I've got quite a lot of stitching done in that time, including starting and finishing Mirabilia's Holly pixie, so my jar is quite full...

As you can see, I've have two jars pictured. My regular small one that I usually just keep squishing the threads down in, and a new bigger one... I thought this year I would keep my regular ort jar for the monthly progress pictures and the larger one would hold the whole year's progress of orts... we'll see how it works out...

Here is a picture of the two jars again, but this time I've already dumped this month's progress into the large jar...

Last but not least, it was our Sunday SAL with Barbi yesterday, so that meant Mary Margaret time...

Here she is after last night's stitching session...

I think I did pretty good. I've started the border, as well as filling in the bottom grass/dirt. I did make one change to the pattern, in that I changed the colour of the outline of the raccoon... The colour that the patten called for in its DMC conversion was DMC 730 which is a dark avocado green... I didn't want my raccoon being green, so I switched it out for black instead. Anyways, she is coming into the home stretch, and I'm pretty excited!

That's it for now, I didn't realize my post would be this long, so until next time happy stitching!

holiday greetings...

Well I didn't get any stitching done over the IHSW, haven't actually touched a needle since sometime last week...

We were very busy with a couple of parties on the weekend, as well as getting ready for the upcoming Christmas holidays...

We had to get everything all ready ahead of time, as I had gallbladder surgery yesterday, so now I just can take it easy and relax and rest and heal. Its strange to be done everything so soon! I don't know what to do with myself! We normally don't decorate the tree until the afternoon of the 24th, but its all done now.

I will be stitching, during my time off, I don't have to go back to work until the 9th, so I have plenty of time to pamper myself, and that is all I have planned!

I would like to also take this opportunity to wish all of you a very merry and blessed Christmas and a very wonderful and prosperous new year!

Áldott karácsonyi ünnepeket, es sikerekeben gazdag, boldog új évet kivanok sok szeretettel mindenkinek!!!

IHSW...

Don't forget that it's IHSW this weekend! Get those needles smokin'! Sadly I'm not sure how much I'll be able to participate this weekend, as its pretty full up with plans and parties, but I will try and get needle to thread sometime this weekend!

Have fun everyone, I'll be looking foward to all the lovely progress pictures!

IHSW and Mary Margaret...

This weekend was the IHSW (international hermit and stitch weekend) and sadly I didn't get to much time in for stitching. I was only able to really sit down on Sunday for a little bit.

Since Sunday is also our SAL day with Barbi, I worked on Mary Margaret for both the IHSW and our SAL. Here is my progress from yesterday...

Not too much but she is coming along nicely. I am enjoying her a lot, she is a fun stitch. I will admit that this time her face didn't creep me out as much as she did last week, when I had to cover her up!

That's it for today... I'm off to stitch on my tulips! Also 9 more days of nablogpomo as well.

ihsw update...

I joined up with a group of other stitches in the Internation Hermit & Stitch Weekend this past weekend... I happened upon it quite accidentally by blog hopping.

I thought it was a neat idea, and it happen to fall on this weekend so I jumped right in! If you click on the link in my sidebar, you can find out more information about it, but basically its the 3rd weekend of each month that you set aside to give yourself some stitchy time and then blog about it... I know that doesn't sound like anything special especially for me, who tries to set aside some time each and every night. But not everyone is as lucky as I am to be able to do this, and to have a set weekend for your stitchy time is a great way to make sure you get some! Plus its a neat thought to know that there are other stitchers around the world all stitching on that weekend along with you!

Anways, it also just happened that I started something new this weekend and here is my progress so far...

I decided to start a Batch of Pumpkins by Homespun Elegance. Its been in my stash waiting patiently for me to start it for a while now - at least a year or two...so I finally gave in... it helped that the other two projects that I wanted to start, I didn't have the right fabric for them, so they still sit and wait...

Its coming along fairly nicely, and I'll probably continue along with it this week and see how far I get!

Don't forget you still have time to join in on my giveaway! You have until midnight my time on Thursday October 20th to enter by posting a comment to the giveaway post!
