Enjoying the view

I thought I would share the view that we had when a few of us went out to the mountains for the day. (may 6th) We had fantastic weather, and we had a wonderful time. We went to Banff and Lake Louise and though there were quite a few people, it wasn't so many that it wasn't enjoyable.

We didn't do too much, just walked around a bit at Lake Louise, had a snowball fight or two, and then in Banff we did pretty much the same, walked around a bit, had a late lunch, and then instead of the snowball fight, we hit the hot springs and went for a dip. I have to admit, I haven't been in the hot pool forever (since I was little) and I enjoyed it tremendously! We will definitely have to go back and do it again.

The first set of pictures are of Lake Lousie, including a close up of the glacier. It was weird walking around with all that snow on the ground in sneakers with no socks on! But the snowball fights were fun! The second set are what we took in Banff -sadly, we didn't take too many pictures other than a few at Bow Falls.

On other news, I still haven't picked up a a book since getting back from our trip, so I'm starting to fall behind on the reading challenge. Hopefully thought that will change soon, and I'll get out of my reading slump! I'm actually starting to miss it!
In stitching news, I'm diligently working on my SAL with the Hungarian blogging ladies, but I have to admit that its been a while since I've stitched over one, and its taking much longer than I thought it would! All last week all I did was work on the outer border for it! But I did manage to finish it, and this week so far I've been working on the actual design for this month. Hopefully I'll have it done in the next couple of nights - it will help that we have a long weekend coming up, and maybe that will mean I'll have more stitching time!!! I promise I'll post pictures soon! I really want to get this done so I can start working on those peonies again! That one is what I was planning on entering into the Stampede needlework exhibition this year, but at this rate, its beginning to look doubtful!
