I survived...

Just a quick note to say that I survived the day surgery on Wednesday - had to be at the hopsital at 6:45am - and those of you who know me, know what a morning person I am not! The totally stupid thing is that that I had to be there at 6:45, but that the day surgery area doesn't even open until 7am! HUH??? Why do we have to be there that early if no one is there to admit or do anything with us. Why go just to wait??? Oh well, its over and done with I survived. My insides are all perfect according to the dr. so I guess that is good news! (at least part of me is perfect!)

Anyways, I did pretty good, didn't need any real pain medication, other than some arthritis tylenol for my back and shoulder pain that they said I would have from the anesthetic and the gas they pumped into me. Didn't even touch the tylenol 3 they gave me at the hospital. Thursday was the worst of all, I could barely move, and felt like a steam roller ran over me a few times. But by yesterday I was doing pretty good. I can move and get up much easier, with not so much pain or hardly any at all. Tonight though will be the real test, becuase I will actually have to wear "real" clothes tonight! I've been in nothing but sweats and my pjs since Wendesday!! Tonight is the Hungaria Ball - the 50th one, very big, very formal, very fancy event. There will be debutants, palotas (a Hungarian noble's dance) and of course my favourite - the Hungarian folk dancing! We should have a good time tonight, and the good thing is that my dress isn't tight or has any seams or belts or whatnots in the general area of my tummy, so I should be good to go! Hopefully the only thing that will hurt will be my feet from wearing heels all night long! Anyways, I'll fill you all in with the details later as well as a picture or two...

On the stitching front, all things considered, I didn't really stitch at all during these last few days of prescribed rest. I just didn't feel like it. I couldn't sit still long enough to make any sort of decent progress, so for the most part it just sat there staring at me. I put in a couple of stitches, but not anything to show off just yet, so no progress picture yet again... Hopefully next week I'll do better!
